Air Fryer Bacon
Air Fryer Bacon: The ultimate solution to crispy, flavorful breakfast (or snack) with no mess! The process yields beautifully cooked bacon with evenly golden, crisp edges (and less grease) so it’s the healthier choice.
Cooking bacon in the air fryer can take a fraction of the time, and you get all of the same great flavor without the mess of grease splattering everywhere. Whether you like your bacon soft or crispy, this technique comes out just right every time.
Air fryer bacon is versatile for all meals of the day; it can be used in sandwiches, salads, or enjoyed on its own as a savory snack. With its versatility and easy cleanup, it’s a must-try for bacon lovers everywhere.
Air Fryer Bacon – Ingredients
Back bacon offers a leaner cut, but you still get the tenderness and rich flavor from it to impart another layer of flavor to the dish.
Streaky bacon, which has streaks of fat running through it, crisps up in the air fryer wonderfully, providing ultimate crunch and a more indulgent, melt-in-the-mouth texture.
Recipe Tips
Don’t Crowd the Air Fryer Basket: While it’s tempting to toss a large batch of bacon in together, overcrowding the air fryer basket can result in uneven cooking. Try to arrange the bacon pieces in a single, even layer, so they can be crispy as possible. If you have a smaller air fryer, cook in batches for best results.
You Can Control Crispness by Duration: The most important secret to air fryer bacon: ducting time according to the texture you prefer. If you prefer your bacon a little chewy, shoot for 6 minutes for streaky bacon, or 4 minutes for back bacon. If you want a crunchier bite, add a couple extra minutes of cooking time. Watch it carefully, though, to avoid cooking it too long.
Removing Extra Grease for Added Crispiness: Once you have cooked your bacon, place it on a plate with paper towels. This small gesture helps soak up any extra grease, making sure your bacon stays nice and crispy and not soggy.

What to Serve with Air Fryer Bacon
Classic Breakfast Sandwich: Use your crispy air fryer bacon to make a breakfast sandwich loaded with eggs, cheese, and toasted bread or an English muffin. All my favourites in one dish: crispy, rich-bacon, fluffy scrambled eggs equal deliciousness for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Avocado Toast: If you want a lighter, more contemporary breakfast, serve your air fryer bacon on avocado toast. Slather toasted sourdough with creamy mashed avocado and top with the crispy bacon for a combination of textures and flavors that’s as filling as it is healthy.
Salad topping: Crumbled air fryer bacon is a great addition to any fresh salad. Whether it’s a basic mixed green salad (and let’s face it, it has to be basic because we need it for our bacon) or a somewhat fancier Caesar, the crunchy bacon brings a smoky, savory crunch to the bowl, highlights the greens’ freshness, and offsets the flavors.
FAQ
Would I be able to cook multiple kinds of bacon in the air fryer?
Yes, both back and streaky bacon can be cooked in an air fryer. Just keep in mind that each type will cook at a different rate — back bacon usually cooks quicker than streaky bacon.
How to make sure bacon doesn’t curl in air fryer?
To stop bacon from curling, place the bacon strips in a single, flat layer without overlapping. When cooking multiple strips, it’s a good idea to use less to ensure they go into the cooking vessel with equal exposure.
Can I use air fryer to cook other kinds of meat?
Absolutely! The air fryer can do a far larger range of things, from sausage to chicken to, yes, even steak. Just tweak the cooking times according to the kind of meat and how thick.
Can I store leftover bacon?
Yes, leftover bacon will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. To reheat, just put it in the air fryer for a few minutes, so it can be crispy.

Air Fryer Bacon
Ingredients
- Streaky bacon
- Back bacon
Instructions
- Start by laying the bacon in the air fryer basket in a single, even layer. Do not stack the pieces on top of each other, because that makes it difficult for all of their surfaces to crisp. How many rashers you can fit in to the air fryer will depend on the size of your air fryer.
- Preheat the air fryer to 200°C, then add the streaky bacon. Cook for 6-10 minutes, 6 minutes will give you a tender texture, 10 minutes will cook it to a crisper finish. Back bacon will take approximately 4-8 minutes based on your preferred doneness. If making more than one batch, note that subsequent batches may cook more quickly because of residual heat.
- After cooking the bacon to your liking, transfer the cooked bacon to a plate lined with paper towels using your tongs to soak up any extra oil. For best texture and flavor, serve immediately.
